Sources close to the negotiations confirmed the pact, which is contingent on Bellinger successfully passing a physical examination.
Key Contract Details Unveiled
The comprehensive contract includes a $20 million signing bonus, providing immediate financial benefit to Bellinger. Furthermore, the agreement features a full no-trade clause, offering Bellinger considerable control over his future career path. He also retains the option to become a free agent again after either the 2027 or 2028 seasons. A notable clause addresses potential work stoppages: should any games be missed in 2027 due to such an event, the opt-out dates will consequently shift to after the 2027 and 2028 seasons.
